Find half a dozen or so guy's who are not afraid of death, a lot of bamboo poles and some string. I was fascinated, as I watched the week long construction. Men balancing on bamboo poles, building a framework around the water tower. Each day the frame grew higher, all held together with string.

It looked very haphazard and yet the men climbed about as if they were walking along the ground. Several time I thought someone is going to fall off that thing, especially when the wind picked up and the rumble of thunder was heard. But did they stop? climb down to the safety below, no they just kept on with their work.

The Leaning Tower of Pizza has nothing on this construction, I wondered if anyone had looked at the angles. Could it possibly meet any building safety code, I think not and yet on they went. The following week suddenly they had reached the top. Now the painting began. In less than three hours the tower had received its new coat, green. Who choose that color? I mean, white blended in, as much as any color could. But dark green, what were they thinking? Was there a sale on green paint? A deep discounted price to get rid of the stuff?

The next day all of the bamboo surrounding the tower disappeared, leaving this great enormous green thing in our line of vision as we look up into the blue sky. Going by current pay standards I doubt if any of those guys who risked their lives to get this job done made any more than about 30 Pounds Sterling each, if that. Add to that, they are thankful that they got the work. Amazing.
