Happy New Year to all Yes it is that time of year again, at least here in Thailand it is. This comming weekend there is a four day celebration going on to welcome in the new year. Here in Thailand the year is 2550 and when I opened a bank account a couple of week ago I was asked for my date of birth which they quickly translated and told me I was born in 2495, not sure what to do with that info? So in the Western world I have not been born yet and will not be born for almost 500 years. So is there a chance I might get to be part of the Star Trek team? Beam me up Scotty. That is only one difference, here they work on a 6 hour clock. So you have 1 through 6 am, then you have 1 through 6 am again, then 1 through 6 pm, and 1 through 6 pm again. Of course they have names for the different periods of time, and the day is still 24 hours long. We have three seasons, the hot season which we are in now followed by the monsoon season and then the cool season. The cool season is when most tourists come on vacation. But having not been born yet I should not be writing any of this stuff as it will all be history by the time I arrive
